There are three types of markets in this project. These include temporary, permanent and 'butcher'. Each one of them is explained below.

Temporary markets are for those who would like to start their own small business that is close to their home. These market/shop areas can be rented to Stretford residents. These have time limit and constantly change. How they might use market area, depends on them. For example, a person can design home made jewelry and set up their market in any way they prefer according to what item that they are selling.

Permanent markets are food related markets that are specifically designed to accommodate cookery. It is very limited on how this space could be used when compared to temporary markets. These markets always stay in the building to provide food.

The butcher's market is very specific to this design project as it provides the same meat to local people that is also used in the restaurant to cook recipes. It is a great way for the restaurant to promote the butcher and vise versa.

Below is a collage that I have created to show how the space might be used. Inside the building, temporary and permanent markets has been divided into two sides to keep a nice flow of spaces.

These are permanent markets that are located on one side of the building. These are all food or drink related, however they are all selling different kind of items.

All of these markets below are temporary owned by locals who are selling their own items. As you can see each one of them is using their market according to their needs and style. The butcher is also located in between these markets.

These are opening hours for both the markets and the restaurant. As you can see, markets open and close earlier than the restaurant. This is because temporary markets/shops cannot be opened during late night and also due to other 'threats' mentioned in the big draw. This also allows more concentration on the restaurant during evening time.

This is not the final design, however this an attempt to visualise how the space may look and feel like.

Visualising Space

This is a diagram on the floor plan showing access to the building and connection between markets and the restaurant.
